This week is Heritage Week! The Nelson Home on 8206 Giants Head Road was built in 1910 and selected for heritage recognition by the Heritage Advisory Council this year. Copies of the pen and ink drawings by the amazing Ken Ballantyne are available at the Museum for $15.00.
Do you know someone who is interested in Summerland's history, wants to be involved in the community, and is open to following governance best practices? Nominate them to be a director at our AGM on March 10, 2018. Attached are the forms that need to be completed, signed, and sent to email@example.com.
Last summer, we hosted a team from the University of British Columbia's Digitization Project. A total of 517 pages/images from our archives were digitized, including 108 pages from the 1914-1918 West Summerland's Women's Institute Minute Book and hundreds of photos of the area taken before 1949.
