We are pleased to announce a special lecture ahead of Mother’s Day, presented by Curator Petra Höller.
What was it like to be a mother in early Summerland? Using examples from the Museum’s archive, we will try to put ourselves in their shoes. Hear about the first settler women to take up residence in log cabins and tent houses and the proactive moms who contributed to Summerland’s social and cultural development. These strong and hardworking women managed the household and helped raise the next generations of Summerlanders. Join us as we honour their selfless contributions to our town’s history!
When: Friday, May 8th at 2pm
Where: Tait Room, Summerland Museum, 9521 Wharton Street, Summerland
Cost: By donation
Seating is limited and first-come, first-served. Please arrive early to secure your seat.
